Financial Assistance for Hearing Aids

Most people think hearing aids are very expensive, but they don’t need to be. ASH Audiology also offers a unique pricing model known as ‘unbundled’ that allows for more affordable and transparent pricing, so you only pay for what you need as it occurs. The majority of hearing aid clinics charge a ‘bundled’ price where the cost of the hearing aids as well as follow-up services in the future are bundled into the total upfront price. This ultimately drives up your initial cost, often making hearing aids prohibitively expensive. We believe it’s only fair for you to pay for services and parts that you need and will use. At ASH Audiology, the initial cost of the exact same top-of-the-line hearing aids is much lower. Our mission is to help every person who wants to hear better, regardless of financial status. Below is a list of potential financial aid options to help.

Health Insurance
Medicare and many private insurers do not cover the cost of hearing aids. However, it’s important to speak to your insurance representative and ask about any benefits you may have. Check with your insurance to see if they have any coverage for hearing aids before looking at the options below.

FSA and HSA Accounts

Your employer may offer an FSA or HSA (flexible spending account or health savings account) that pulls money from your paycheck pre-tax and sets it aside for future medical expenses. In this case, the cost would still come out of your pocket, but it would be untaxed. If you’ve already used your FSA funds for the year, please consider what your hearing needs will be next year when you sit down with your company’s benefits coordinator and decide how much of your paycheck you’d like to reserve tax-free.

Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services
Each state in the U.S. has a department of rehabilitation services, a program which helps individuals with disabilities pursue schooling or a career. If you are a student, looking for work, or struggling at your current job because of hearing impairment, the Oklahoma Department of Rehab Services may offer full assistance for two hearing aids and any assistive listening devices necessary. We’d be happy to help you connect with them and get the process started.

Options for Seniors

If you’re over 60, on a limited income, and live in Oklahoma, the Senior Citizens Hearing Aid Project may offer full assistance for one hearing aid. To get started, click here.

Payment Plans
If you can’t afford to pay for your hearing aids in one lump sum, it may be possible to pay in installments. ASH Audiology partners with ABLE Tech, CareCredit, and Ally to provide low and no interest loans regardless of credit.
